Discovering the Grati Family
The Grati family has been growing vines and olive trees and has been producing wine and olive oil in Rufina for six generations. The tradition continues, however, as they no longer travel to Florence on carts pulled by majestic white oxen to deliver their wines; today, their products reach the four corners of the world, without forgetting their hometown, Florence.
On the rooftop of Tuscany
It’s as easy as a Tuscan morning: You leave Florence, drive east a few miles and suddenly a whole new world opens up before you – the hills of Chianti Rufina. Near Rufina you discover the vineyards of GRATI FAMILY. Pressing exceptional grapes and producing first-class wines, watching them mature and sending them out into the world is a big responsibility. For six generations now, the hills of Grati Family have been cultivated by vintners who are passionate about this tradition and the responsibility that comes with it.
It gets cooler up here in the hills where Grati Family is located, and the landscape is more demanding. The altitudes are high, but the lime marl soils are extremely fertile and the wines that come from this region are elegant and complex. The nature is a challenge and the work strenuous – but it is worth it: Grapes of a remarkable quality grow here. If you enjoy Tuscany, you will have a very special appreciation of Chianti Rufina.
